Made from quality full-grain textured leather these bags were used as simple holdalls and small travel bags by affluent families. 
Smaller versions were used by doctors to carry their medical equipment and medicine bottles.
Two clips at either end of the top and the central lock release the top to open the bag.
There is some wear to the top corners. Visible to the front left corner in the second image.
The interior lining shows significant signs of staining.
The remanents to travel labels and the initials W.P.T. are on its sides.
