Antique Military Leather Suitcase
The pre-loved patina of this antique military vintage tan-coloured suitcase has aged beautifully through its decades of travel. Don't you love the embossed surface and the raft of flexible storage options of this piece?
The suitcase is over 100 years old and with every new wax polish the surface texture will only improve.
There's history too! Capt. Harry Gilmour once owed this wonderful suitcase from the famed 16th Queen's Lancers - a cavalry regiment of the British Army. His name and regiment have been debossed on the top of the suitcase. he fought in the Boer War (he was 'dangerously wounded' at Geluk, Transvaal, 13th Oct. 1900) and WW1.
This style of old suitcase looks great as a visual design prop or accent in the home. A stack of 3-4 vintage suitcases makes a striking coffee table or can be simply used as a display feature.
Why not use the suitcase as a memory case for your old photos and letters (remember those?)
Vintage Suitcase size: 60cm x D35cm x H16cm.
Note, one of the straps has broken at some point in its life.
