Reflecting the traditional style of woodcraft and brass metalwork of the time, this chest, also know as a peti (casket), would have been used by Marwari merchant families to store important valuables. The chest dates from c19th and is a very good example of highly skilled brass work.

This Indian antique etched brass box is from Shekhawati and is an excellent example of the style and dates to the 19th century.
