Vintage Decorative Iron Bowl Sieve
A lightweight hand-fabricated vintage sieve recently sourced from Rajasthan, North east India. Today they make decorative bowls for bread, fruit and other dried items. Each plate is carefully hand-beaten from iron sheets with a hammer and curved by very skilled traditional blacksmiths from the Lohar communities of Rajasthan. The result is work of art with a unique rippled curved surface and either holes or narrow slots. Traditionally used for separating whole grains and their husks.
