Grand Antique Rajasthani Door
At over 2-metres tall, Scaramanga is pleased to offer this impressive traditional Rajasthani doorway which we found during a shopping trip to Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Click here for more Antique Doors.
Scaramanga is now offering the door frame and its double doors as a striking statement architectural piece for your interior design or building project.
Traditional Rajasthani Doorway size: W149cm x D12cm (with protrusion 39cm) x H209cm (actual door size: 104cm x 189cm).
Once upon a time, these colourful blue and yellow doors would have opened into an impressive merchant's house.
These salvaged solid teak doors were finely crafted by skilled artisans who spared no expense when it came to the details. You'll see an array of decorative forms on the crown and side posts. The metal door trimming is brass.
We've had many customers install interior doors like these between rooms, the same as you would with French doors. Other uses would include leaning them against a wall as a large piece of statement art, attaching them to a wall and using them a beautiful grand headboard or they could be used in the garden.
This doorway reflects the style and colours found in the walled city of Jodhpur. We believe these reclaimed interior wooden doors are over 100 years old and given the hardwood that was used in the 19th century, there is no doubt they have decades of life left.
The large brass padlock shown in the photo is not included.
Although not quite IKEA, the door flatpacks and disassembles into 10 individual pieces for shipping on a wide pallet. Please phone to answer questions about this piece.
The doors will require two wooden blocks with small holes drilled to hold each door's lower pivot points. Two rings will also be needed to hold and secure the upper pivot point for the doors. Scaramanga will not provide these. However, we are happy to help with advice for these parts.
