A magnificent grand pitari treasure chest from Rajasthan, NW India. This impressive chest would have been used for storage in a large house. Perhaps a successful trader. We have kept its original faded blue paintwork. This charming teak hardwood chest has a great surface patina that has evolved over decades of lovingly waxed polishes - its scuffs and scratches add a wonderful charm and authenticity. We estimate the chest to be 130-150 years old.
