The lid lifts to reveal a single internal space. There is some internal distressing as shown in the photo.

This trunk would have been bespoke for the original owner and would have accompanied an affluent family on their travels. We imagine this trunk made its way around the UK and Europe on their horse-drawn carriage.
Handcrafted to a very high standard, this trunk was once covered in a hide with fur. Over the centuries the leather patina has become wonderfully smooth and mellow.
